One of Chelsea’s recent signings already seems to be loving life in the Premier League.

Chelsea‘s transfer business during the summer was quite balanced. They brought in players who already knew the division, such as Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto.

However, the Blues also signed footballers from abroad, including Renato Veiga and Filip Jorgensen.

Jorgensen is yet to play a game in the Premier League, with Enzo Maresca naming Robert Sanchez as his first-choice goalkeeper, but Veiga has.

Renato Veiga enjoying Premier League challenge

Veiga did not feature in Chelsea’s 3-0 win against West Ham United over the weekend.

The defender, though, did start in the Blues’ 1-0 victory over Bournemouth and has made a couple of substitute appearances in the Premier League this season, so he has had a taste of English football at the top level. And so far, he is loving it, largely because of the fans and stadiums.

In an interview for Chelsea’s latest matchday programme, which has also been shared by Chelsea’s official website, Veiga said: “I’m just trying to enjoy every moment. I always loved the Premier League. It was the only league I truly watched every game from. I could watch the last-placed team playing against the next-to-last team and it was always exciting for me.

“I love the environment inside the stadiums and how much it means to the fans. For us players, knowing how much it means to them gives us an extra boost. It’s just nice to play in those environments.”

Although he started in midfield against Bournemouth, Veiga is competing with Marc Cucurella for the left-back spot at Chelsea. Veiga is relishing the competition with Cucurella as he looks to displace the Spaniard.

Chelsea remain an attractive proposition because of Premier League

Chelsea have not had Champions League football to offer their targets in recent transfer windows. The club’s owners will hope that changes, but that has been the case for the last two summers now.

Nevertheless, playing in the Premier League, Chelsea still have their appeal. Many footballers, such as Veiga, have dreamt of participating in the English top flight.

Ultimately, Chelsea can use that to lure players to Stamford Bridge. One name that they could try to convince to join the club in the new year is Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres.

Chelsea scouted Gyokeres last week as he continues to go from strength to strength. In eight appearances, the Sweden international has already scored 11 goals this season.
