While Chelsea may not be in the Champions League this season, the club seem to be keeping an eye on the competition.
Chelsea finished sixth in the Premier League last term, missing out on Champions League qualification as a result.
In the end, it was not even enough for a Europa League place following Manchester United’s victory in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
It left Chelsea having to settle for a spot in the Conference League. Chelsea now have to win the Conference League, according to their former striker Chris Sutton.

Chelsea watched Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres in the Champions League on Tuesday
Chelsea have to be content with Conference League football for now, but the aim will be to get back into the Champions League and win it.
To do so, the Blues obviously need Champions League-level players, such as Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres.
According to HITC, the Blues scouted Gyokeres during Sporting’s 2-0 win against Lille in Europe’s elite competition on Tuesday.
Chelsea could make a move for Gyokeres next summer after failing to sign an experienced centre-forward in the last transfer window.
Viktor Gyokeres would have impressed Chelsea’s scouts
Chelsea scouts would have been ticking boxes while watching Gyokeres in Sporting’s game against Lille.
The 26-year-old managed to score a goal and make four key passes, according to Sofascore.
“He is a great player,” former Portugal defender Jorge Andrade recently told beIN SPORTS when discussing Gyokeres.
This season, the Swede has already scored seven goals in nine appearances, which includes his strike on Tuesday.
As for the previous campaign, Gyokeres netted 43 times in 50 outings, an incredible return.
Chelsea spent the end of the last transfer window trying to sign Victor Osimhen. They failed to land him, but Chelsea signing Osimhen in January hasn’t been ruled out.
However, at this point, the club now have to consider putting Gyokeres at the top of their list, especially if he continues to score in the Champions League.
