Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that Chelsea will be in discussions with Brighton next week over the signing of Moises Caicedo.
He took to Twitter to state that it was a certainty that the Ecuador international would be leaving his current club this summer.
It looks as if the Blues have determined that Caicedo is their number one target for a player to bring in to help bolster their midfield options.

An addition or two is going to be essential, as the current crop looks set to undergo a mass exodus before next season gets underway.
N’golo Kante is very close to being the next big name to take his talents to Saudi Arabia, while the reliable Mateo Kovacic is pushing for a move to Manchester City.
There is also no certainty that Conor Gallagher remains at the club either. The Blues will be safe in the knowledge that there is plenty of profit to be made on a player who graduated through their academy.

After seemingly missing out on their first target, Manuel Ugarte, all focus has turned to Caicedo as they look to beat fellow big sides to a deal.
Romano has now claimed that talks between the two clubs will take place within the next seven days.
He said: “Talks between Chelsea and Brighton for Moisés Caicedo will start next week, as the conversation on personal terms is very advanced — close to being agreed as revealed yesterday

“For sure, Caicedo will leave Brighton this summer.”
Reports today have suggested that the player has already rejected a move to Bayern Munich this summer, instead choosing to play for Chelsea.
Even with the potential addition, expect Chelsea not to be done yet in the market as far as midfielders go.
