Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that one Chelsea youngster will not feature tomorrow against Liverpool.

He claimed in his pre-match press conference that defender Levi Colwill will not be available for selection after his recent injury problem.

Colwill was forced to pull out from the starting side who were due to take on Aston Villa in the FA Cup last Friday night.

The England international was due to start at left-back again, with Ben Chilwell not being risked for the game so soon after returning from injury.

Tomorrow would likely of been a chance for him to return to his favoured central defensive role, with the vice-captain instantly proving how important he can be for the club when fit.

However, it looks as if he is not going to feature tomorrow, with the manager confirming he is not fit enough to play against the league leaders tomorrow.

Colwill not fit for Liverpool

He said: “No. Levi is out. He suffered a minor injury on his tendon. Not a big issue, but he is out tomorrow.”

With Thiago Silva a shoe in to start at the back tomorrow, it is probably going to be a shootout between Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile for who partners him at the back.

The former has enjoyed a strong run in the team of late, with him getting on the scoresheet in the dominant EFL Cup semi-final win.

However, he notched up that goal following a marauding run from right-back, where he was filling in following the absence of Reece James and Malo Gusto.

Good news was coming though, with Pochettino confirming the Frenchman was going to be part of the travelling squad to Anfield tomorrow for the big game.

The match is seen by many as a dress rehearsal to the EFL Cup final which is due to take place late next month.
