Chelsea’s Noni Madueke has admitted he’s already a huge fan of his new manager.
Mauricio Pochettino, 51, stepped into the role this season as the Blues head coach. Hopefully, he lasts a lot longer than the previous individuals under the current ownership at Stamford Bridge.
He’s renowned for being someone who’s great at working with young players, so this current squad looks tailor-made for him to achieve big things with.
Blues winger Noni Madueke, 21, has shared that he’s already forming quite a strong bond with Pochettino.
Interestingly, the Argentine boss does have a tough side to him and can be firm when he needs to be.
“He’s tough with me, but I probably need that,” Madueke said, as quoted by Chelsea’s official website.
“He’s transparent as well which is really important, to know where you stand and what he expects from you. He knows when to be really tough with me and when to put an arm around me. I can’t fault him.
“He’s a really good man manager. He’s created a culture where we are brothers off the pitch. It helps we have a young squad so we are with each other a lot anyway. We are lucky to have him.”
We feel like Madueke just needs a nudge in the right direction to unlock his huge potential as an exciting forward.
Chelsea’s results on the pitch have been indifferent to start the new season, but there’s certainly a lot of positive noise coming out of the camp regarding Pochettino’s impact on the group.
Speaking via Sky Sports, Blues right-back Malo Gusto has explained he’s got a “good relationship” already with Pochettino.
He’s had a good reputation as a man-manager wherever he’s gone in his career, so we’re not surprised to hear the players loving life under him so far.
