Chelsea defender Axel Disasi has now shared what is annoying him and the rest of his teammates the most at the club right now.

He told the official website that the fact the Blues are missing so many big chances in front of goal is extremely frustrating at the minute.

Disasi was at the back as some of the most common issues that have plagued the club in 2023 reared their head again in the final game before Christmas against Wolves.

In the 2-1 defeat at Molineux, Mauricio Pochettino was forced to watch in horror as the Blues again spurned countless big chances to take the lead.

The worst culprit this time out was Raheem Sterling, who inexplicably didn’t help Chelsea score when there were three Blues baring down on Jose Sa between the sticks.

The Christmas Eve fixture was one where the side picked up the unfortunate record of missing the most big chances in the league so far this season.

Disasi on Chelsea’s attacking woes

Disasi has claimed that they are all extremely disappointed at the fact that this is the case.

He said: “When we see this statistic and our position in the table, it’s not good.

“We have to be more killer in front of goal. We created many chances. But it’s not just about scoring, it’s also about conceding less and keeping clean sheets.

“Every training and every game we are growing and learning, we have a lot of new players, but it’s not an excuse. The quality is here.

“I know the feeling now is bad because we didn’t succeed, but we have to stay together. We have to take a rest now because we have a lot of games coming.”

The Blues are back in action tomorrow against Crystal Palace, where a win is needed to ease the pressure on the manager.

He will not be able to select Cole Palmer or Sterling after they both picked up suspensions for too many yellow cards this season.
