Pat Nevin thinks one of Chelsea’s summer signings needs to be given more chances after being overlooked by Enzo Maresca so far this season.
Chelsea brought in a lot of new faces in the last transfer window, and some of those new faces have been able to make an impact.
Jadon Sancho is probably the standout example. The 24-year-old has excelled at Stamford Bridge since arriving from Manchester United.
In four Premier League games, he has registered three assists. Chelsea may not need to sign another left winger after Sancho’s impact.

Pat Nevin a fan of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
One Chelsea signing who has had limited opportunities this season is Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
The midfielder is yet to start a game in the Premier League under Enzo Maresca. Nevin, though, hopes that changes soon.
Speaking to the Metro, the former Chelsea player said: “If you look further around that team, people like Dewsbury-Hall have not even got a game yet and he’s great, a really super player.
“He showed that in the Conference League a few weeks back and he surely needs more chances soon.”
Could Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall get an opportunity against Liverpool?
Chelsea are set to play one of their hardest fixtures of the season on Sunday, Liverpool away.
It is not exactly the kind of game to experiment in, so it would be a surprise if Dewsbury-Hall got a start.
Instead, you would expect Maresca to stick with Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez in midfield. Given the quality of Liverpool, perhaps the Chelsea manager will consider putting an extra body in the middle of the park.
However, if he does do that, then Romeo Lavia is more likely to get the nod. The 20-year-old started alongside Caicedo in Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat against Manchester City at the start of the season, with Fernandez playing slightly ahead.
As the campaign goes on, Dewsbury-Hall should get chances. He is someone whom Maresca knows well after working with him at Leicester City. But against Liverpool, the 26-year-old will probably have to settle for a place on the bench.
After their trip to Anfield, Chelsea take on Panathinaikos in the Conference League. That is a match Dewsbury-Hall is more likely to start in.
