Pedro Neto is already good friends with ‘quality’ Chelsea player

Chelsea took their final pre-season friendly against Inter Milan as an opportunity to unveil their latest confirmed signing.

Blues supporters who were present at Stamford Bridge on Sunday were the first to get a glimpse of Pedro Neto after his big-money move from Wolves.

There is great expectation on the winger ahead of his debut, with supporters convinced Neto can be the outlet they have been missing out wide.

Pedro Neto already good friends with Reece James

He will need to get accustomed to his new teammates quickly, with him missing the entire pre-season campaign with the club including their tour of the United States.

However, it seems he at least has a starting point with one important Chelsea player. According to Chelsea’s official website, the winger already has a friendship with club captain Reece James.

Chelsea fans worried about Neto’s injury history

The article goes on to say that they struck up their relationship when both struggling with injury woes, arguably the only concern amongst Blues fans when it comes to signing Neto this summer.

Those fitness issues have already cropped up again when it comes to James, although he was set to miss the start of the season anyway due to a suspension carrying over.

Nevertheless there is plenty of acknowledgment of just how good James is. He has previously been described as ‘quality’ by Jeremy Doku.

It remains to be seen of course if Neto can leave his injury concerns in the past, although there is the argument that he will not be relied on as heavily at Stamford Bridge as he was at Molineux.

It also seems uncertain what his addition means for a number of other first team players who feature in similar roles to him.

There has been reports throughout the entire window that the club would be keen to move on Raheem Sterling, however his high wages and desire to stay are proving to be a real stumbling block when it comes to finding a suitor for him.
