Enzo Maresca is currently preparing his Chelsea troops for what is easily their biggest test of the season since the opening day.

The Blues are preparing to travel to Anfield to take on league leaders Liverpool, with their 100% record away from home this season under immense pressure.

Maresca will likely be watching his players featuring on international duty in the hope that none of them pick up injuries ahead of the big game, with it seen as a real opportunity for his up and coming side to make a statement.

Back at Cobham, training this week has seen the long-awaited return of Reece James. The club captain is yet to play this season.

Pre-season was very promising for the England international, with him even learning the ropes in a new inverted position to suit the manager’s style.

While it is unclear if Liverpool is going to be too soon for him, there is plenty of excitement in the camp that he is back amongst his teammates on the pitch.

Pedro Neto is one of those who was left delighted, commenting a heart eyes emoji on Chelsea’s Instagram post welcoming him back.

Neto is currently away representing Portugal, although the story of their international break so far has actually revolved around one of his club teammates.

Renato Veiga likely to start for Chelsea vs Liverpool

Renato Veiga impressed greatly on his debut, with media thanking Maresca for saving his career at Stamford Bridge.

The 21-year-old is likely to start against Liverpool after a suspension for Marc Cucurella.

James on the other hand is likely to not be named in the starting side, with Malo Gusto almost certain to take that role.

The Frenchman has deputised very well in the absence of the skipper, however there is no doubt excitement over what is to come from James when he is back on the pitch for the Blues.
