Peter Crouch has singled out one Chelsea player who’s caught his eye in a positive way at the start of the season.
Chelsea’s results have been inconsistent in the opening stages of the campaign, which is understandable following the arrival of Enzo Maresca as the club’s new head coach.
ESPN sources report that Chelsea’s players are enjoying Maresca’s training sessions. Hopefully, the results will start to show in the upcoming fixtures, starting with Saturday night’s trip to Bournemouth in the Premier League.
In fairness, there’s several Blues stars that have looked super sharp already under Maresca.

Peter Crouch impressed by Noni Madueke
Speaking on ‘That Peter Crouch Podcast’ this week, Peter Crouch has delivered a really positive review on Blues attacker Noni Madueke.
The former Premier League striker has been super impressed by what he’s seen from the Chelsea and England winger so far this season.
“One positive has to be Madueke. He’s playing well. He looks good, very good. Scoring goals and looking sharp,” Crouch said.
Noni Madueke maturing and developing
It’s pretty obvious that Madueke is levelling up at the start of this season, but can he continue this and grow into a top-class player?
The 22-year-old’s been the biggest winner since the change of management, largely because Maresca relies so heavily on his wide players.
Madueke impressed in pre-season over the summer. Now, he’s got four goals in four Chelsea appearances this season, plus he made his senior England debut this week.
Like many players, he’s got so many fantastic attributes with his pace, directness and technical quality. We feel like Maresca is the perfect coach to mould these things together, while also keeping him grounded.
When you remember that Madueke cost Chelsea £29m (Sky Sports) from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023, it’s looking like he could end up being a bargain.
