Potter starts £10m man amongst big changes: Chelsea XI for Milan

Potter puts £10m Chelsea player back in starting line-up as big changes made: Chelsea predicted XI for Milan

Graham Potter caught a number of people out with his starting XI for the Premier League fixture against Wolves.

With an opportunity to break into the top four, the manager made seven changes from the team that dismantled AC Milan earlier in the week.

However, there was no need to worry as the players pulled out the exact same result to keep spirits high around Stamford Bridge.

With the big games continuing to come, here’s who the Chelsea Chronicle believe will start tomorrow night’s Champions League rematch with the Serie A side.

GK and Defence

After impressing Potter again, Kepa Arrizabalaga will continue to be rewarded for back-to-back clean sheets with an appearance at the San Siro.

Reece James was exemplary against Milan last time in both attack and defence, and after getting a 60 minute rest at the weekend will return to the starting side.

We believe it’ll be a back three alongside him after it’s effectiveness last time, with Trevoh Chalobah looking to continue his unbeaten run in 90 minutes with another start.

Alongside him, Thiago Silva will return after a much-needed rest at the weekend to marshal the side against his former club.

Kalidou Koulibaly will enjoy his little run in the team too, with another appearance at the back for the Blues.

Ben Chilwell will complete the defence, as he and Marc Cucurella continue to battle for the starting spot on the left.

Jorginho will return to the Champions League side after a good performance at the weekend against Wolves.

Alongside him, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who has been one of the standout players under Potter,  will continue his current run in the side.

Mason Mount, fresh off a player of the match display at the weekend, will continue as the link between midfield and attack, with it not taking Potter long to notice just how important he is.

Raheem Sterling was awarded a rare rest at the weekend, although there’s no doubt he will be back for the big game tomorrow.

Up top, £10m man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will continue to hold off competition from Armando Broja and start, with two goals in his last two appearances for the club.
