Reports have claimed that one Premier League club are now seriously considering making a last-minute move to sign a player from Chelsea.

According to The Times, Tottenham are again weighing up whether to make a move to bring in Blues midfielder Conor Gallagher for the second transfer window in a row.

Deadline day last summer saw Spurs push to sign Gallagher from the Blues in the early stages of the season.

Even at that stage of the campaign, it was clear that he was going to be an important part of the system for new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Since then, he has been featuring in near enough every game he has been available for this season. However, he was not named in the starting side for the biggest game of the season in the EFL Cup semi-final.

This prompted Gary Neville to wonder if that decision was the boss accepting that he was set to lose his fight to keep the player he really wanted.

Even former manager Thomas Tuchel described the midfielder as ‘fantastic’ and his prospects have only increased this season.

However, this has not put an end to speculation that he could be on the move, with the club seemingly still keen to cash in on him.

It has been claimed that Spurs are the side leading interest, with it clear just how well he would suit the system currently being played by manager Ange Postecoglu.

A January sale would likely not see the Blues replace him this month, although they are well stocked in the midfield position when everyone is fit.

With the big-money duo of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo starters every week, there are also the likes of Romeo Lavia and Andrey Santos who are going to be pushing for minutes when they are available again.
