Ray Parlour predicts the score ahead of Chelsea vs Brentford on Saturday

Chelsea will be too strong this weekend when they host Brentford in the Premier League.

That is according to Ray Parlour.

Chelsea, who are unbeaten in their previous four games across all competitions, welcome Brentford to Stamford Bridge tomorrow afternoon.

Mauricio Pochettino is now beginning to find some success as he adapts to his first season as the Blues head coach. There’s no doubt that the improvement in the forward positions is playing a key role in the recent upturn in results.

Chelsea vs Brentford prediction

TalkSPORT pundit Ray Parlour has predicted Chelsea to record a narrow win on Saturday versus Brentford. He’s tipped Raheem Sterling to score, too.

“Brentford were excellent at home last week against Burnley… Chelsea will be kicking themselves having that lead and letting Arsenal back into the game,” Parlour told talkSPORT (7:42am, 27 October).

“I think Chelsea have improved over the last few weeks. I think they’ll be too strong for Brentford being at home.

“I don’t think there will be loads of goals in the game. I’m going to go for 1-0 Chelsea. I’ll go for Sterling [to score].”

Time to rewrite recent history

Remarkably, Chelsea have lost their previous two matches when Brentford have come to Stamford Bridge in recent seasons.

Brentford are establishing themselves as a reliable Premier League outfit under Thomas Frank with a lot of quality, but it’s worth noting they’re without some key players this weekend.

There’s plenty of pre-match predictions out there all backing Chelsea to win tomorrow, which does bring it’s own kind of pressure.

Speaking via BBC Sport, Chris Sutton is tipping a 2-1 home win for Chelsea over Brentford. Elsewhere, talking on the Seaman Says podcast, David Seaman is predicting a 2-0 Chelsea victory against Brentford.

Blues fans are going to need a lot more consistency and proof from this team before they go into matches with full confidence. Nobody can deny there’s a feel-good factor creeping around the place right now.
