Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah is edging even closer to making his return from injury.
That is according to Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
Trevoh Chalobah, 24, has been very unfortunate not to make a single appearance yet this season due to a serious hamstring problem.
However, the versatile defender is now on the brink of coming back to fitness.

Chelsea once again named Chalobah on their injury list via their official website ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League fixture away to Liverpool. He is listed as back in team training with the rest of the squad, though.
Speaking in today’s press conference, Pochettino provided a further update on the 24-year-old star:
“Trevoh is really close. He is doing so well. I think it’s only a matter of time before he can be involved again,” Pochettino said, as quoted by the club’s official YouTube channel.
He’s not going to be ready to make a comeback at Anfield versus Liverpool, but it sound like a return is imminent.
Trevoh Chalobah close to return from injury
It’ll be a huge relief for Chalobah once he’s available for selection again.
However, has he played his final game in a Chelsea shirt?
The Blues centre-back has been frequently linked with a potential transfer exit in 2024.
For example, CaughtOffside claimed a couple of days ago that Fulham are among the clubs interested in signing Chalobah. Apparently, Chelsea would be prepared to let him go during the January transfer window on a permanent basis.
If sold, Chalobah would bring in pure profit on the balance sheet because of his academy roots.
We’re happy to keep a player with his quality if the right move doesn’t come about, but this is one scenario where we understand the temptation to cash in given the abundance of defensive options at Stamford Bridge.
