With Chelsea enjoying a very strong start to the season under Enzo Maresca, a lot of the talk has been about their top performers so far.

Cole Palmer is a clear top candidate on this list, with his performances wowing pundits and Chelsea fans alike.

This was most recently proven at the weekend in the hard-fought 2-1 win over Newcastle. Pat Nevin was stunned by just how good Palmer has become.

While there have been other players really raising their game under Maresca, some have not convinced everyone that they can be a long-term option for the project.

Robert Sanchez the highest-rated goalkeeper in the Premier League

One of these is Robert Sanchez, who has started every game in the Premier League this season.

Maresca has made it clear Sanchez is his number one, although supporter have not been quite as universal in their backing of the Spaniard.

Frustration was heard around Stamford Bridge when Sanchez was in posession, with their fears that he could give the ball away at any moment seeming to be realised.

However, according to DataMB, the Chelsea shot stopper is actually the highest ranked goalkeeper in the Premier League so far this season, ahead of the likes of David Raya and Alisson.

Sanchez disappointed when the Blues made the trip to Liverpool last weekend, with Jamie Carragher describing the ‘keeper’s performance as ‘really poor’.

Time for a goalkeeper change at Chelsea?

There has been talk as to whether a change between the sticks is necessary, with Chelsea completing the signing of Filip Jorgensen over the summer.

His appearances have so far been limited to cup competitions, and that does seem to be what is in store in the coming weeks at least.

Jorgensen is in line to start tonight against Newcastle, and he will be desperate to make an impression on Maresca as a player who is certainly ready to compete at a Premier League level.
