Reports have claimed that discussions are underway for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to leave Chelsea at the end of the season.
According to SPORT, talks have begun over terminating his contract with the Blues after just a season back in the Premier League.
It has not been a campaign to remember for Aubameyang, with him currently only sitting on three goals since making the move to West London.
Two of these came in the Champions League, however their importance certainly lowered after a decision was made to leave him out of the European squad for the knockout stages.
This was done in order to facilitate three January signings to be allowed to feature in the competition, although was a decision that left interim boss Frank Lampard annoyed.
Aubameyang looking to rip up contract
The Englishman gave him a rare start this season for the game against Arsenal last week, however his lack of impact and touches of the ball added more misery to his time at the club.
Footage emerged over the last few days of the striker admitting he wants to return to Barcelona, which has been an accepted fact pretty much ever since he made the switch on deadline day last summer.
Now, it has been claimed discussions are underway regarding potentially terminating his contract, which has previously been reportedly of the request of Mauricio Pochettino.
The reported expected new coach is desperate to see the bloated squad trimmed down, and although no individuals have been named specifically, those who are hardly featuring right now will be high on the list of those to go.
Given the fact that Aubameyang was left out the matchday squad completely for the victory over Bournemouth at the weekend, it looks as if his Chelsea career could be coming to an end.
