Reports have claimed that Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is the most likely first team player to be sold this summer.

According to The Sun, the 23-year-old is one of the favourites to go when Mauricio Pochettino is announced as the new manager at Stamford Bridge.

It has been an up-and-down season for Chalobah, with him having to fight a number of other options for a place in the starting side.

These have included Wesley Fofana, Kalidou Koulibaly and Benoit Badiashile, who all joined the club for big money this season.

Nevertheless, both Graham Potter and Frank Lampard have admitted they are massive fans of the Englishman and the role he has played in the first team this season.

Appearances have come both at centre-back, or recently on the right of a back four, when he put in one of his most impressive performances of the campaign.

However, this has not stopped reports that the defender is set to be sold this summer, as part of a much-needed clear out at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will be well aware that they are expecting the return of Levi Colwill from his loan spell with Brighton in a few weeks’ time, and the club are reportedly adamant that he will remain part of their first team for next season.

This will make opportunities even more scarce for Chalobah. The current Brighton man will almost certainly be not settling to be a bench player next season.

With reports that Pochettino wants Colwill to be an important piece of what he wants to be building at Stamford Bridge, it is likely he will find himself on the pitch very quickly, which could spell the end for the academy graduate currently with the club.
