Reports have claimed that Marc Cucurella could be sold by Chelsea this summer.

According to The Sun, the Blues are reportedly considering getting rid of the 24-year-old just one year after he was brought to Stamford Bridge.

It has been a tough season for Cucurella since he made the big-money move from Brighton last summer after being named their player of the season.

He will therefore likely be looking in envy when he looks at his former side’s season this year, with them now on their way towards qualifying for European football.

He was brought in by Tuchel last summer, with it rumoured at the time that he was going to be signed as someone who can feature on the left of a back three.

However, supporters have not been left impressed by the Spain international’s first season at Stamford Bridge, and now injuries look set to have ended his campaign early.

Cucurella could leave Chelsea

Unhappiness regarding his performances has perhaps been replicated at the club, with reports claiming he could be one of the first players to go after the new manager comes to Chelsea.

It is widely expected that Mauricio Pochettino is set to be announced as the new manager of the club after a lengthy recruitment process that has taken place since Graham Potter was sacked.

This has seen reports emerge of players that the Argentine is looking to build his side around, whilst also listing the players that will be surplus to requirements.

Chelsea will also be welcoming back Ian Maatsen in that position ahead of next season, after his successful loan spell helped Burnley achieve promotion to the Premier League.

Despite the fact he will be wanted next season by a number of sides, a season as an understudy to Ben Chilwell could certainly be on the cards.
