Raheem Sterling is really excited about Mauricio Pochettino potentially becoming his new manager at Chelsea, according to reports.

Chelsea fans are still patiently waiting for an official announcement to confirm who will be the club’s permanent manager next season. The Mirror has reported Mauricio Pochettino will be named as the next Blues head coach this week.

Now, talkSPORT claims that Raheem Sterling is excited about Pochettino’s imminent arrival at Stamford Bridge.

It is understood that the 28-year-old Blues attacker can’t wait to work under the new manager and is keen to be central to the Chelsea rebuild.

It’s great to hear that a senior player like Sterling is committed and focused on Chelsea’s future.

The £50million (BBC) left-winger hasn’t hit his best heights during his debut season at the club, scoring seven goals in 35 games across all competitions.

However, the England international is one of the individuals in the squad with the most experience. In fact, the former Manchester City star is a four-time Premier League winner.

We’ve seen throughout the entire campaign Chelsea’s forward line massively struggle to catch fire in front of goal, but there were glimpses of Sterling’s quality in the opening stages of the season.

Hopefully, the arrival of Pochettino can bring the best out of Sterling. We can definitely picture him working well in Pochettino’s 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 system.

Sterling was very critical last month when discussing his own performances this season, claiming he’s been nowhere near his own level.

In our view, he deserves another opportunity from the supporters to come good and click into gear next season.
