Reports have claimed that Brighton are now keen on signing Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher this summer.

According to TalkSPORT, the Blues are willing to sell the midfielder in order to raise funds to assist in their summer rebuild.

It is expected that many of the Chelsea squad will have offers listened to for this summer, however few will hold the value the club hope to get from Gallagher.

The 23-year-old was the subject of a £45m bid from Everton back in January, and the club will be hoping to get similar value from a club looking to sign him this summer.

With him coming as a product of the academy, they obviously didn’t spend any money on signing, and therefore will represent plenty of profits in the eyes of the owners.

There is a need to sell this window in order for the club to raise funds and sign their own players in order to back new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Midfield is an area the club are looking to address as well. They have already missed out on Manuel Ugarte, who the manager was reportedly a big admirer of.

It looks as if they are going to lose out in any pursuit of Declan Rice too, with the England international closing in on a move to Arsenal.

It has been reported that they are now pushing for a move to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton.

The Seagulls are reportedly holding out for a high fee from any interested parties, however would surely be more keen to interact with Chelsea given their current returning loanee, Levi Colwill.

After his spell at the Amex, Brighton are now very keen on bringing him in. A part-swap deal looks inevitable at this point.
