Chelsea have won their first game in over two months as they defeated Reading in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Cobham on Wednesday.
After having an in-house game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, Chelsea have stepped up their preparations ahead of the Premier League restart which just a week-and-a-half away now.
“The Blues met the Championship side at our training ground to help build match fitness,” a statement on Chelsea’s official website reads.
Frank Lampard’s squad won the game 1-0, thanks to Pedro’s first-half goal.
N’Golo Kante who just returned to contract training on Tuesday was also involved in the match, along with Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tammy Abraham who struggled with injuries prior to the football suspension.
And according to Goal’s Chelsea correspondent Nizaar Kinsella, Chelsea will play another friendly match against old neighbouring rivals QPR.
Similar to the Reading game, unfortunately, there would likely be no coverage of the game.
Chelsea will return to Premier League action on June 21 against Aston Villa.
