Reports have claimed that Mauricio Pochettino has been really impressed by Levi Colwill while he has been on loan away from Chelsea.

According to the Evening Standard, the Argentine is already a fan of his abilities before he has even played a senior game for the Blues.

This season has been somewhat of a breakout for Colwill at the top level, after impressing plenty during a Championship loan spell last year.

He has been a regular feature for the overachieving Seagulls this season, who yesterday secured European football with a 3-1 win over relegated Southampton.

In their impressive campaign as a club, it has been equally as good for the 20-year-old. He was under strong consideration for the England national team before injury struck at the wrong time.

He is now set to return to Stamford Bridge ahead of next season, and he will be making demands over his gametime if he is to remain in West London for the upcoming campaigns.

Colwill already impressing Pochettino

It has now been claimed however that he is already being admired by Pochettino, who is still set to become the new manager at Stamford Bridge.

An announcement by the club has been expected for some time now, with the likes of Fabrizio Romano claiming that the deal is agreed between both parties.

However, a permanent replacement for Graham Potter has not yet been named, and Frank Lampard continues to take the brunt of defeats at Stamford Bridge right now.

The latest was to Manchester City at the Etihad, when the Blues were beaten 1-0 by the recently crowned champions who were in a party mood.

However, under the surface the Blues will know they, particularly Raheem Sterling, had more than enough chances to leave with an unlikely result yesterday.
