Reports have stated that Hakim Ziyech is set to return to Chelsea training today.

According to The Athletic, the Moroccan will return ahead of tomorrow’s game after his proposed loan move to PSG collapsed in extraordinary circumstances.

The winger was set for his long-awaited move away from Stamford Bridge, albeit only on a temporary basis.

He has continued to struggle for gametime with the club this season under either Thomas Tuchel or Graham Potter, and with him approaching 30 he needs to be back in a starting squad somewhere.

Whether the star-studded PSG would provide that opportunity is another question, however the deal was set to be completed as part of a busy deadline day for the Blues.

Unfortunately for Ziyech, a mishap saw the paperwork not be submitted in time, and the subsequent appeal yesterday failed to bring the move back to the life.

Ziyech to return to Chelsea training today

This understandably left the Morocco international fuming, however The Athletic have stated that he will be returning to Chelsea duties today.

It is unclear as of yet whether he will play any part in tomorrow night’s league game against Fulham, however the action throughout January may suggest he is even further down the pecking order right now.

The club signed Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke last month as wide options who pose a direct threat, something Ziyech certainly doesn’t excel in.

Mudryk has already made his debut for the club, and impressed greatly in a cameo appearance against Liverpool at Anfield.

The Blues will be looking for revenge against their West London rivals tomorrow after they were defeated 2-1 at Craven Cottage last month.

The game was overshadowed by Joao Felix’s interesting debut, where he would impress greatly before being sent off in the second half.
