Fabrizio Romano has claimed on his YouTube channel that Chelsea would prefer to sell Hakim Ziyech permanently today as opposed to loaning him out.

He has been of reported interest to PSG for a late January move, as the French champions look to reinforce for their title and Champions League efforts.

The Moroccan has been strongly linked with a move away from the club ever since he returned from a strong World Cup showing.

Interest from the Premier League and beyond has so far not developed into anything concrete.

However, the Blues may have found a suitor in PSG to take him off their hands.

Chelsea not keen on loaning Ziyech

Romano has claimed that while the move is discussed as a loan, it leaves Chelsea a decision to make based on what they originally wanted.

He said: “Hakim Ziyech. Paris St Germain want on him on loan with no buyout clause, so a straight loan until the end of the season.

“Let’s see what Chelsea will decide, because Chelsea insisted for the whole window they wanted a permanent transfer for Ziyech and not a loan. They turned down many loan approaches for the Moroccan star. In this case, Ziyech wants the move. He wants to go to PSG. They are really pushing as they are looking for a Pablo Sarrabia replacement.”

With an influx of new wingers making the move to Stamford Bridge this month, Ziyech’s already low gametime is surely set to drop even more if he stays.

Therefore, a move of some capacity seems to be best for everyone involved.
