There was some frustrating news coming out of Chelsea yesterday regarding the fitness of Reece James.
Reece James, the Blues captain, suffered his latest injury setback earlier this month.
The 24-year-old defender’s had horrid luck in the injury department in the last few years, so this is yet another frustrating moment in his stop-star career.
The Daily Mail reported this week that James is set to be missing through injury for between three to four months while he recovers from surgery.
He then confirmed the news on Thursday via his own social media.

Chelsea injury announcement
James shared via his Instagram account yesterday that he’s now successfully had surgery on his hamstring injury.
Former Blues stars Ross Barkley and Saul Niguez were among those in the comment section to send on kind wishes to Chelsea’s skipper.

Reece James injury
Let’s hope that the James recovery process flies by for him. Also, that he’s over these injury interruptions once and for all after surgery.
His post mentioned there’s been a lot negative messages in reaction to his latest injury, but he rightly points out that it’s out of his control. Of course, Chelsea’s star defender deserves love and respect from the entire fanbase.
We’ve seen that the Blues are not the same team when he’s missing, so it’s a big challenge moving forward in these next few months without him. Our guess is he’ll still be a big presence on a day-to-day basis around Cobham, though.
Blues right-back Malo Gusto, 20, should be picking James’ brain at every opportunity for advice and help on playing the role at Stamford Bridge. It’s now the perfect time for the French youngster to prove why he was signed as the perfect understudy/competition for James.
This is yet another bump in the road during a very challenging first year for Mauricio Pochettino as the club’s manager.
