Chelsea’s Cole Palmer is already proving people completely wrong this season.
That is according to talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan.
Cole Palmer completed a £45million transfer (Evening Standard) to Stamford Bridge in the summer, which certainly raised a few eyebrows.
The left-footed attacker was part of Manchester City’s first-team squad after coming through the club’s academy, but he completed a move to Chelsea in search of more regular first-team minutes.
It’s safe to say that the player’s decision has already been vindicated.
Palmer is a nailed-on starter in Mauricio Pochettino’s side after an excellent start to the campaign. He’s received his first ever call-up to England’s senior squad this week, too.

Proving people wrong
Simon Jordan heard some people doubt Palmer following his move to Chelsea, but he claims that the individual is making a mockery of that criticism.
Jordan told talkSPORT: “I had a couple of people when he was transferred from Man City to Chelsea questioning the boy’s character—not his character on the field, but his outlook towards life, perhaps his discipline. That’s not showing itself at Chelsea.
“I’m not surprised he rammed that penalty home. This is playing against a team that, ultimately, he’s perhaps got a point to prove, so he stepped up and overcame his nerves.
“He’s a good player. He deserves to be called up into the England squad on the basis of what Gareth Southgate supposedly selects.”
Cole Palmer a potential bargain
A lot of been made about the investment from the Blues to assemble this squad.
You can’t ignore that Chelsea’s current owners have spent a fortune on transfers in recent window, which in turns brings increased pressure and expectation. The one caveat to that is the current strategy of investing in mostly young stars means it may take time to get the benefits.
We’re already seeing that Palmer could turn out to be a £45m bargain.
Speaking on The Kelly and Wrighty show this week, Ian Wright said that Palmer has gone into “beast mode” since joining Chelsea.
The creative forward, who’s playing as either a right-winger or No 10, looks like he’ll make something happen whenever the ball is at his feet.
