‘So erratic’… TalkSPORT pundit says 22-year-old Chelsea player really needs help in training

Gabby Agbonlahor thinks Chelsea would be wise to do some special one-on-one coaching with Mykhailo Mudryk in training.

Mykhailo Mudryk chipped in with another assist during Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United last night in the Premier League.

However, the 22-year-old attacker, along with the rest of his teammates, had a really off-night at Old Trafford.

Mauricio Pochettino’s Blues side may have only lost by a one-goal deficit in Manchester, but they were second best in pretty much every department.

Gabby Agbonlahor criticism

TalkSPORT pundit Agbonlahor criticised Mudryk following his latest Chelsea performance in midweek.

Interestingly, he suggested that the left-winger is too erratic and could do with some special help on the training ground.

Agbonlahor told talkSPORT: “Mudryk runs through on goal and he’ll have the whole goal to shoot in and he’ll kick it wide. He makes the wrong pass, the wrong touch. So erratic. He needs someone to train with him, one of the coaches at Chelsea, and say, ‘when you’re running through and taking players on, just calm down’.”

Mykhailo Mudryk urged to get extra help in training

It was another display from Mudryk versus Man United that showcased what supporters already know about him.

The Ukraine international has phenomenal speed and athletic ability. He can burst into some great positions on the pitch, too.

Unfortunately, there’s still a real lack of composure from the youngster and it makes him a frustrating watch. We agree that he needs to be a lot calmer in the final third, which should come with more coaching and just general top level experience.

Journalist Ben Jacobs recently claimed via Substack that Chelsea boss Pochettino has been spending one-on-one time with Mudryk to help him.

How long will it be until we see a more polished and clinical version take to the field?
