Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has praised Raheem Sterling for helping the Blues beat Fulham 1-0 yesterday.
Raheem Sterling earned Chelsea a first-half penalty, which Cole Palmer calmly dispatched.
It was Palmer’s ninth Premier League goal of the season and speaking to football.london and the rest of the English media after the game, Mauricio Pochettino lauded both the 21-year-old and Sterling.
The former also impressed Peter Crouch, who said it is a joy to watch him.
Chelsea have now won three Premier League games in a row after that victory against Fulham, previously beating Luton Town and Crystal Palace.
Mauricio Pochettino praises Raheem Sterling for role in Fulham win
Pochettino was told after the Fulham game that Sterling has the record for winning the most penalties in the Premier League. It is fair to say the Argentine was impressed with that and his performance against Marco Silva’s side on the day.
“We work on that,” Pochettino said. “No! It’s good for the team. Today was good action and good performance to provide the team the penalty and then Palmer’s execution was excellent.
“So happy because he provides the team good things and helped to achieve the three points today, that we needed to be in a better position in the table.”

Raheem Sterling great at winning fouls
It is no surprise to hear that Sterling has won the most penalties in Premier League history. The England international is a really good dribbler and can be hard to stop when he is at it.
According to WhoScored, Sterling is completing the most dribbles in Chelsea’s squad right now.
Chelsea fans would perhaps like to see a bit more end product from the 29-year-old, though.
The former Manchester City star, who moved to Stamford Bridge in a £50m deal (BBC Sport), has scored five top-flight goals this season. A forward of his calibre has it in him to do a bit more.
