‘Special’ Chelsea player’s deadline day move ‘could collapse’, Joao Felix would also be impacted

Exits are proving to be far more likely for Chelsea than signings in what is shaping up to be a busy deadline day in West London.

Ideally, a number of players would leave the Blues on a permanent basis after not being able to establish themselves an important member of Enzo Maresca’s squad.

It already looks as if they will secure a number of loans away today. Ben Chilwell is currently undergoing his medical at Crystal Palace, while Carney Chukwuemeka is set for Champions League football with a move to Borussia Dortmund.

Joao Felix moving on loan from Chelsea could see Aaron Anselmino deal collapse

Joao Felix has also been discussed by a number of top clubs as the deadline gets closer. Aston Villa and AC Milan are linked, with the latter more likelyaa due to them not being direct rivals for a top four finish this season.

If he was to move to the Serie A side, the Portugal international would take up the final international spot for a loan currently available for Chelsea.

This could pose an issue in the development of Aaron Anselmino, who was brought back to Stamford Bridge at the start of this month after originally expected to join up in the summer.

The youngster could reportedly be on the move today to Marseille, with Roberto de Zerbi’s side keen on bringing him in on loan.

Fabrizio Romano has stated that a loan for the Argentinian could collapse if Felix makes the move abroad, with Milan looking the most likely destination for him right now.

He said: “Chelsea set to make decision on loan spot today as João Félix’s future is still open, as of now. If Chelsea agree deal for João’s loan exit with several clubs keen, Anselmino’s loan move to Olympique Marseille could collapse.”

Chelsea have high hopes for ‘special’ Anselmino

There is plenty of faith in Anselmino from Chelsea as someone who can become a regular in their first team for years to come.

Analyst Ben Mattinson has previously described the centre-back as ‘special’ to GiveMeSport, and a loan at a top club would certainly be good for his development.

Chelsea sending any players to a Ligue 1 side would be strengthening a rival to Strasbourg, who are also under the BlueCo ownership.
