Journalist Rahman Osman has now claimed that one Chelsea player is definitely not going to be leaving the club during this transfer window.

He took to Twitter to state that there are absolutely no plans in place for Conor Gallagher to leave in the middle of the season.

Gallagher has been arguably the most important player for Mauricio Pochettino since he came in.

Even if there are two midfielders who cost more then £200m combined available too, it is the 23-year-old who the manager has started every single time he has been available to.

However, this faith from the boss has not put an end to talk that he could be surplus to requirements as far as the higher ups at the club are concerned.

It has always been believed that the fact Gallagher is a product of the illustrious academy system at Cobham, the owners see him as an opportunity to make real profit on the books.

Gallagher staying this month

They have not been afraid to make this decision in the past, which is why the likes of Mason Mount are currently no longer at the club.

Gallagher supporters can rest easy at least for this month as far as Osman is concerned, with him replying to a question regarding his future on Twitter.

He said: “Gallagher is staying mate.”

Whether you’re in the camp that believes the squad should be built around the England international or not, it still remains foolish to completely dismantle it midway through the season.

Instead, the Blues should only look to sell players who are on the fringes or not making the desired impact on the first team right now.

This will explain why they are reportedly looking to complete a deal to sell Ian Maatsen, with Borussia Dortmund moving themselves to the front of the queue as far as that one is concerned.
