Gabby Agbonlahor thinks Mason Mount needs to leave Chelsea this summer.
Mason Mount, who’s been with Chelsea since the age of six, has enjoyed an incredible rise from academy talent to first-team sensation. Now 24, the England international is one of the high-profile names at Stamford Bridge.
The attacking midfielder has been such an important player for the Blues in the last few years, but speculation is flying around about his future with his current deal expiring in 2024.
Journalist Simon Phillips has told GiveMeSport that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp would love to sign Mount. Elsewhere, The Times reports that Bayern Munich share an interest in Mount this summer.
However, it’s worth remembering recent comments from Chelsea’s current head coach. Graham Potter has said he wants Mount to stay and for his contract situation to be sorted.

TalkSPORT pundit Agbonlahor has delivered his verdict on Mount by suggesting his time at Chelsea may have come to a natural end.
He’s urging the 24-year-old star to pack his bags and leave.
“I think he has to go. I think, you know, it hasn’t worked out for him this season,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.
“But there’s clubs who would take Mason Mount. You look at Liverpool. Liverpool will take midfielders from everywhere… Would he fit in a three at Liverpool? At Bayern Munich? You do see players linked with old managers. We don’t know if that’s definitely true, but there’s a top player in there in Mason Mount.
“But sometimes, being at a club since you were a kid, maybe it’s gone a bit stale there. He needs to move on and have a fresh start somewhere.”

Mount has been such an important part of the Chelsea squad in recent times, so it would be very odd without him next season.
He’s still got another year left on his deal after this campaign, but the Blues should learn their lesson from allowing key players to leave on free transfers.
We hope this Mount saga ends with an agreement between all parties over a new deal. However, it’s no surprise some elite clubs are waiting in the wings for him.
