Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that he does not really need to man manage Thiago Silva.
Thiago Silva made a huge mistake in Chelsea‘s 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United before their win against Brighton & Hove Albion yesterday.
It was the kind of error that can affect a player mentally, but Mauricio Pochettino suggested that that was not the case with the central defender and told Chelsea’s official website that it was not something he had to manage.
Silva and Chelsea were able to bounce back from that loss at St James’ Park after beating Brighton 3-2 on Sunday. The Brazilian’s team-mate Enzo Fernandez was really impressed with his performance.

Pochettino has claimed that Silva is capable of dealing with mistakes much better than some of the younger players in Chelsea’s squad.
The Argentine told the club’s official website: “All experienced players can affect in a positive way, helping the team and the younger players to deal better with a situation like what happened at Newcastle.
“Experienced players can deal better with the pressure and deal more with the mistakes.
“Thiago can deal with a mistake better. That helps because it is one player less to manage. We can be focused more on the younger players. That is the way he is helping us.”

Will Thiago Silva start against Manchester United on Wednesday?
Silva was able to recover swiftly from his mistake against Newcastle, putting in an excellent display versus Brighton yesterday.
According to WhoScored, he made 10 clearances in the victory over Roberto De Zerbi’s side, the most in the match.
However, do not be surprised if he is rested for the Manchester United game. It is a huge fixture and really one he should be starting.
But with Benoit Badiashile fit again and fixtures coming thick and fast, Pochettino may decide to give the Brazil international a breather.
Let us not forget that Silva, whom Gary Neville has described as “world-class” on Sky Sports in the past, is now 39 and has played every Premier League game so far this season.
Simply put, his rest is going to come soon, perhaps when there is a mid-week match like the one against Erik ten Hag’s side on Wednesday.
