Arsenal legend Thierry Henry wants to see one Chelsea target move to the Premier League this summer.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is reported to be at the top of Chelsea’s list as they prepare to bring in a new centre-forward.

The 25-year-old has also been linked to Paris Saint-Germain, but Henry would like to see him play in the English top flight. The former Arsenal and Barcelona star was speaking about Osimhen on CBS Sports.

The Nigerian scored a crucial equaliser last night in Napoli’s 1-1 draw with Barcelona in the Champions League.

It was his ninth goal of the season and second in Europe’s elite competition.

Henry has told Osimhen to come to the Premier League and prove himself.

Following his goal against Barcelona last night, the legendary striker said: “I think he needed that today because at the AFCON. He can lead the line, he runs into the channel, he holds the ball, he is clever to understand I have him here and let him roll. I do think he needed that goal.

“How good can he be? He showed last year what he could do. He won African Player of the Year along the way. I would like to see him now, what can you do in the Prem? Wherever he is going to go, PSG or the Prem, I want to see him doing it year in, year out.”

A club like PSG will have their appeal, but Osimhen’s heart looks set on a Premier League move.

The Nigeria international said in an interview last month that he will definitely play in England one day.

It is good news for Chelsea, who have lacked that clinical centre-forward this season. Nicolas Jackson has not done terribly, scoring seven goals in 22 top-flight appearances.

However, a return like that is not enough to take the Blues to the summit again, while Mauricio Pochettino has also used the 22-year-old on the left wing at times.

With Osimhen having a desire to play in the Premier League, Chelsea could have an advantage over PSG, though their lack of Champions League football may give the French club some hope.
