Unhappy Chelsea fans were loudly booing under-fire man despite win vs Southampton after Stamford Bridge protest

There was a strange mood at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a victory over Southampton.

The Blues picked up a 4-0 win on the pitch to return to the top four, however the focus was largely on events which took place before the game outside the stadium.

A plethora of Chelsea supporters were protesting the club’s ownership, as well as the direction they are going with the youth-led project.

Todd Boehly was the recipient of most of the flack, although Clearlake and BlueCo may not be too worried after starting to change fan opinion at Strasbourg after their initial hesitancy.

Chelsea fans not happy with Filip Jorgensen in 4-0 win

Despite a dominant performance on the pitch, it was clear that not everything the players were doing in what was a routine win.

One of the interesting decisions Enzo Maresca made was sticking with Filip Jorgensen in goal despite his high-profile error late on against Aston Villa.

If anyone was going to be feeling pressure in West London it was the Dane, after heavy criticism of Jorgensen at the weekend.

This perhaps explains why he was extremely patient in possession against the Saints, although this was getting on supporters’ nerves.

Nizaar Kinsella said: “This is fascinating. Chelsea’s Matthew Harding End are jeering the players for their slow playing out from the back style.

“Goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen has been just standing on the ball for periods of 10/30 seconds on multiple occasions. That style is not this club’s culture.”

Chelsea’s goalkeeper plans after Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen woes

While Jorgensen maintained the faith of Maresca this time around, it is painfully obvious that Chelsea have been let down by their goalkeepers this season.

It is believed Robert Sanchez won’t reclaim his place in the side, opening the door for a new signing in the summer to make the role their own.

Chelsea are big fans of Caoimhin Kelleher, and reportedly have the Liverpool man at the top of their list when it comes to potential new goalkeepers in the summer.
