‘Unique’… Club official claims 23-year-old Chelsea star is the ‘most talented’ footballer in the world

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has really struggled at Stamford Bridge since arriving from Shakhtar Donetsk last January.

Mykhailo Mudryk failed to score a single goal for Chelsea last season and has only netted four times this term.

However, it looks like the 23-year-old still has his fans, with Shakhtar Donetsk CEO Serhii Palkin recently telling beIN SPORTS that he is the “most talented” player in the world.

Mudryk has not got too many opportunities to show that in the current campaign. He has managed to make just nine starts in the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino, though, has suggested that his performances when he has played have not been good enough for him to retain a spot in the team.

According to Shakhtar’s CEO Palkin, there is not a player out there like Mudryk.

Speaking about the Ukrainian, he said: “I can tell you that, for me, Mudryk is the most talented and unique player in the world. I believe that in order to get the maximum from Mudryk, as they anticipate, you need to invest in him. And these investments are not money.

“The investment is time with the coaching staff to communicate with him and to work closely with him because he is a young boy. He changed from the Ukrainian Championship for the English Premier League.

“It’s a completely different world, with completely different levels, with football that’s completely different. I believe that if the coaching staff dedicate some time to him, he will return three, four or five times more.”

Mykhailo Mudryk does have talent

We would not go as far as to say that Mudryk is the most talented footballer in the game right now; however, he does have ability and skill.

The Ukraine international is rapid and can be a very direct and dangerous dribbler at times.

For example, Mudryk completed 1.7 dribbles per game in the Champions League for Shakhtar last season, which was the highest average in his squad (WhoScored).

What is lacking from Mudryk’s game right now is an end product. If he can fix that, then Chelsea could find themselves in possession of a very effective winger.

However, it looks like they could loan him out before he develops into such. According to journalist Simon Phillips, it is something that has been discussed at Stamford Bridge.
