With the plethora of players Chelsea saw as out of their plans for the upcoming season, not all of them were able to be involved in a busy pre-season to get fit.
The most notable example of this was Trevoh Chalobah, who was left off the tour of the United States completely in an attempt to accelerate his departure.
He eventually moved on deadline day to Crystal Palace for the season, however has already seen his spell there impacted by injury.
The Blues got desperate to move some players on deadline day, and were even completing deals after the summer transfer window was closed to Premier League sides.
One of those who got a late move was David Datro Fofana, who made the switch to Turkey and Goztepe.

David Datro Fofana not fit for debut
The striker impressed in patches on loan at Burnley last season, with manager at the time Vincent Kompany describing him as ‘very fast’.
Fofana will have to wait however before he makes his debut for his new side. According to Aksam, the loanee is not ready to feature yet due to a lack of fitness.
The report goes on to say that due to his disturbed pre-season, he is working on an individual training plan in order to get himself ready for action.
Fofana buy option not likely to be taken
While there is a buy option involved in the Fofana loan, it feels unlikely at this stage that it will be activated unless he has a truly sensational spell.
The hope will be that he can impress to a level where other clubs around Europe notice how well he is getting on, and feel they can benefit from signing him from Chelsea next summer.
As far as young strikers at Stamford Bridge go, the go-to man right now is Marc Guiu, with him set for minutes in domestic cups and the Conference League.
