Gianfranco Zola has delivered a glowing verdict on Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
Mauricio Pochettino’s now a few months into his spell as Chelsea boss, taking charge in the summer before the start of the season.
The 51-year-old’s helped his side fly into a Carabao Cup quarter-final, where they’ll face Newcastle United later this month.
However, the team sit 10th in the Premier League table right now due to inconsistent results so far this campaign. They travel to Manchester United tomorrow night in their next league game.

Gianfranco Zola impressed
Gianfranco Zola, 57, is regarded by many as one of Chelsea’s greatest ever players.
He’s given a very positive assessment on Pochettino, which can only be a good thing for any Blues manager.
Zola believes that the Argentine is the “perfect” individual in the manager’s dugout right now.
When discussing Pochettino on The Obi One Podcast, Zola said: “I think he is the perfect manager for us because he’s already worked before in situations like this.
“He worked with teams that were young with a lot of potential and he made them a very good team. I think he is the right man. We need to understand that a team is not formed in one week, two weeks or a month. It takes time…
“We cannot doubt the abilities of Mauricio. He’s a very, very good coach.”
Mauricio Pochettino the right fit as Chelsea manager
We’re inclined to agree with Zola that Pochettino is the correct individual in Chelsea’s hot seat.
Journalist Paul Brown told GiveMeSport recently that the talk behind the scenes at Chelsea points towards Pochettino getting more time to come good. We’re certainly delighted about this!
With such a young and inexperienced squad of players, Pochettino must be permitted the time to see through this project.
