Chelsea are reportedly close to announcing their next first team signing less than two weeks away from the Premier League season getting underway.
It has been reported that they have agreed a deal to sign Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid, with it being the final domino of a chain that involved Conor Gallagher going the other way.
Omorodion had his medical with Chelsea yesterday despite still being out in France representing his country as part of the Olympic team.

Lebouef worried about Omorodion signing for Chelsea
Supporters are yet to be convinced of the signing, and if it is what the club need at this stage of their project, with some calling for a more experienced and proven name to come in.
Frank Leboeuf is typically critical of business done by Chelsea since Todd Boehly came in as an owner, and his reaction was no different when he was asked about Omorodion.
He said to ESPN FC: “I have to Google him. So I went to Google, got the video of him, see him playing for the reserve team of Atleti, playing for the U21 with Spain not knowing who the guy is, 34/40m?
“Where do you want to go with that I’m sorry and again maybe I’ll be surprised but it’s too many players with the same profile with no experiences and it’s very worrying for me.”
It doesn’t look as if the addition of the striker will signify the end of Chelsea’s business this summer. It has been claimed they are still looking for another two attackers to come in after the Spaniard joins.
Nicolas Jackson likely to be starting striker
It is likely that Omorodion comes in originally as a backup to Nicolas Jackson, who enjoyed a really strong debut Premier League campaign.
However, the Senegal international is yet to play a minute for Chelsea during pre-season after suffering an injury early in the summer.
The role has therefore been played up to now by Marc Guiu, who could have put himself in contention to appear against Manchester City on the opening day with some impressive displays.
