Samu Omorodion is a professional footballer who is close to joining Chelsea in a £38 million deal.
The Atletico Madrid player has been linked with the Blues throughout the summer and it finally appears that he will be moving to West London.
The transfer depended on Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez’s deal with Atletico, which now looks almost certain to happen.
Diego Simeone’s side are happy to let Omorodion go knowing that they have a top player on the way and have identified Chelsea fan favourite Conor Gallagher as the man to spend the money on.
The 24-year-old is expected to sign the dotted line at Atleti imminently, with Omorodion heading in the opposite direction.

Samu Omorodion teams
Omorodion came through Granada’s academy and scored on his La Liga debut against Atletico Madrid last August. Simeone’s side then signed the forward a week later and loaned him to Alaves for the 2023/24 campaign. He has since returned to Madrid but will seemingly move to Chelsea in the coming days.
The striker plays for Spain’s under-19 team at international level and is representing his country at the Paris 2024 Olympics this summer. They will play France in the gold medal match on Friday.

Omorodion scored 18 goals in 36 games for Granada B in the Spanish third division, as well as one goal in one game for the senior team.
Last season, the 20-year-old provided eight goals and one assist in 34 La Liga games on loan at Alaves, who finished 10th in the table.

Omorodion is rated 72 in this year’s game, EA Sports FC 24, with a potential rating of 83. His best attributes include jumping (82), strength (80) and finishing (76).
He will surely receive an upgrade to his rating in EA Sports FC 25, perhaps seeing him up to around 77 – the same as Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk are at the moment.

Omorodion has a transfer value of €35m (£30m), according to Transfermarkt, which is just below what Chelsea have offered to sign him. At 20 years of age, his value will appreciate over time and a good start to life at Stamford Bridge would certainly help.
