Chelsea fans may allow themselves to dream after Napoli’s Victor Osimhen sent a cryptic message on social media a few hours ago to one Blues supporter.
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who’s turned 25 today, signed a new contract with his club earlier this month.
However, that’s not prevented transfer rumours regarding a possible move away from Naples.
The Evening Standard claims that Chelsea do still admire Osimhen ahead of the January window. Meanwhile, 90min says that Osimhen’s new deal with Napoli has a release clause worth around €120million (£112million).
The centre-forward’s activity on social media today could ramp up belief that he’ll end up in West London.
A Chelsea supporter on X wished Osimhen a happy birthday earlier today, including an old image of the player wearing a Blues kit.
The fan wrote: “Happy birthday Victor Osimhen, please come and rescue Chelsea soon.”
Remarkably, Napoli’s frontman has replied on X. He responded with heart emojis and a thank you/please hands emoji.
The reality is that Osimhen’s only replying to a birthday post and there may be a lot of excitement over nothing. However, it does seem an odd strategy to respond directly to a Chelsea fan with such an obvious plea to join the club.
We’ll be keeping a very close eye to see if there’s any fresh developments on the player’s future.
