Graham Potter has confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Mason Mount will miss Chelsea’s game tomorrow against Everton.

The England international has not been present for the last three games in all competitions, which ironically have seen the club win all three of them.

Potter has elected to alter his formation in recent weeks, with that leading to a run of victories in the Premier League and Champions League.

Mount has been forced to miss those games through injury, however questions were asked about the severity of his problem after he was called up to the England squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers.

However, Potter has claimed while he will miss tomorrow’s game at Stamford Bridge, he will also be forced to pull out of representing his international team.

He said: “Raheem, problem with hamstring. Not too serious. Mason has been struggling with his pubic bone, wasn’t 100% last game. He will miss England camp as well. Thiago and Azpi as well.”

Mount ruled out

Mount was spotted back in training earlier this week, meaning he is likely to have suffered a setback during his time on the practice pitch.

His absence will likely see Mykhailo Mudryk offered another start, with Raheem Sterling also set to miss tomorrow’s game.

The 22-year-old impressed greatly when he faced Leicester City at the weekend, with the way he settled into the frontline noticeably impressive.

He picked up his first goal contribution for the club too, as he assisted a fine Mateo Kovacic volley late in the second half.

This came after a VAR call robbed him of his first goal for the club.

Mount meanwhile will have one eye on his contract situation, with him currently not close to signing a new deal with the club he has grown up playing for.
