Mauricio Pochettino has hinted that Chelsea will soon be making some new quality signings.

Mauricio Pochettino has been overseeing his first week as Chelsea head coach on the training pitches at Cobham, and yesterday he held his first official press conference with the national media.

The 51-year-old Argentine has already delivered some interesting comments for the Blues supporters to digest. For instance, Pochettino has shared his excitement about working with Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, as quoted by the club’s official YouTube channel.

In addition, there’s been a brief mention about transfers that may excite the fanbase.

Pochettino has acknowledged that his current squad in pre-season is not the finished article he expects to start the new campaign with.

In fact, the Blues manager claims they will be welcoming some new signings with top quality.

“It is true this isn’t the whole squad, but the players are very open. The attitude is amazing. Of course, we have the quality, we are going to add more quality and I am excited to be here,” Pochettino said, as quoted by Football London.

Our main focus so far in this summer window has been around outgoings, with so many high-profile first teamers exiting Stamford Bridge.

We’ve snuck in some new additions to the squad, including attackers Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson.

However, it’s no secret that Chelsea must address their weakness in midfield right now. The mass exodus this summer has left them extremely short in the centre of the park, so we would like a couple of experienced top recruits in the central midfield position.
