What Behdad Eghbali was caught doing after Chelsea’s win vs Middlesbrough last night

Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali was at Stamford Bridge last night to witness the Blues beat Middlesbrough in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup.

Behdad Eghbali would have been pleased with what he saw after Chelsea ran out 6-1 victors and booked their ticket to Wembley for the final.

After the match, he was seen heading down the tunnel, presumably to meet the players and congratulate them on their victory.

Before Eghbali and Todd Boehly witness Chelsea win silverware for the first time under their regime, the Blues will need to beat either Liverpool or Fulham in the Carabao Cup final.

Liverpool are currently winning the semi-final tie between the two sides following their 2-1 triumph at Anfield earlier this month.

Behdad Eghbali would have been impressed with Cole Palmer’s performance

Eghbali and Chelsea spent a bit of money on Cole Palmer, signing him from Manchester City in an initial £40m deal (Sky Sports) last summer.

It was a questionable decision at the time. The attacker was a benchwarmer at the Etihad and did not have too much Premier League experience.

However, at Chelsea, Palmer has been anything but a bench player. He started against Middlesbrough yesterday and showed Eghbali that he is worth every penny the club spent on him.

The England international scored twice to help Mauricio Pochettino‘s side to reach the final.

It means Palmer has now netted 11 times in 23 appearances for Chelsea this season, with nine of his goals coming in the Premier League.

Following his latest outing, Ben Chilwell could not stop raving about the former City man.

You can question a lot of Eghbali and Boehly’s spending since they took over Chelsea. However, one investment they have definitely got right is Palmer, who is proving to be one of the signings of the season.
