Reports have claimed that Conor Gallagher has been put through his paces already since joining up with the England squad.

According to the Mail Online, the player went through some significant stretching drills in his first training session since joining up from Chelsea.

This season has proved so far to be a very successful one for Gallagher, who many thought would be on the move over the summer.

Even as late as transfer deadline day, there were reports that Chelsea were happy to let him go for the right price, although that criteria was never met.

Since then, he has not looked back and begun to establish himself as a crucial member of the first team.

Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly a massive fan of the midfielder, and this has shown by him being an ever-present in the Premier League this season.

Gallagher put through his paces

With the captain and vice-captain missing games through injury, he has even had the opportunity to lead the side he has been with for most of his life.

Gallagher has begun to form a connection with Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, with the duo being the two most expensive players in their position.

Now, the Englishman is with the national team ahead of their two upcoming fixtures, where his form suggests that he is due some minutes for his country.

He is one of two Chelsea players who are representing the Three Lions this week, with Levi Colwill also being named in the squad.

With no recognised left-back in the squad, it would suggest he is in line to make his debut for his country in the next two games.

Then again, predicting what Gareth Southgate will do with team selection is never an easy job.
