Yesterday saw Atletico Madrid officially unveil their latest new signing, with Chelsea losing one of their most impressive players from last season.
Conor Gallagher was announced at his new club yesterday, with it clear how the La Liga side’s fans felt about their latest addition.
Supporters led a social media campaign to bring Gallagher into their club during a time where it looked as if the deal could collapse.

Clips of the England international in training with his new side have already emerged, with Cesar Azpilicueta seemingly taking Gallagher under his wing already.
The popularity of his signing was only confirmed when he made his first statement to the supporters as an Atletico player.
Atletico fans love Conor Gallagher at unveiling
As seen on Diario AS, he said: “Hello, I don’t speak much Spanish. I am very happy. Aupa Atleti!”
This sent the supporters in attendance crazy, as they prepare for the Cobham graduate to become a fan favourite over in Spain.
Chelsea fans on the other hand have not been happy with the treatment of Gallagher this summer, with him very much being frozen out of the club.
The Blues looked as if they were going to bring in a new striker in exchange for the midfielder, however a deal to sign Samu Omorodion collapsed at the final moments.
Chelsea sign Joao Felix
Instead, Chelsea made the move to bring Joao Felix back to the club, after his loan spell here in 2023.
The Portuguese international has already got to work with his new side, with Paul Merson naming Felix in his new best attack at Chelsea.
The Chelsea midfield still looks well stocked even though Gallagher has moved on, with all three of their expensive trio starting the opening game of the season against Manchester City.
Romeo Lavia impressed greatly in that game, with Chelsea fans left excited about what he can bring if he stays fit this season.
