Since the 2022/23 campaign ended, there has been a lot of talk about Mason Mount and his future at Chelsea.
Manchester United have seen three bids rejected for the England international, who has no intention of signing a new contract at Chelsea with his current terms expiring in 12 months.
The Telegraph believe Mauricio Pochettino does not want anyone who isn’t 100% committed involved in the pre-season tour of the United States, leading many to wonder if the Chelsea No.19 will travel.
Now, there has been an update on Mason Mount.
What’s the story?
Well, a new story from the Telegraph claims what Pochettino will ask the 24-year-old if he does decide to turn up for pre-season training at Chelsea.
It is said that the Argentine will ask Mount if he still feels motivated to play for Chelsea, before any decision is made on whether the attacking midfielder should be involved in preparations for the 2023/24 campaign.

The Telegraph add that Chelsea’s academy graduate has not actually asked to leave Stamford Bridge this summer despite his refusal to sign a new contract, and is ready to do what Pochettino wants if Manchester United fail to meet the £65m asking price.
So – by the sounds of things – Pochettino is ready to work with Mount at Chelsea, as long as the England international shows a desire to give 100% for the Blues.
Chelsea should lower Mount asking price to £60m
In our view, Chelsea should accept £60m for Mount rather than hold out for £65m.
Manchester United’s last offer for Mount was worth £55m, which Chelsea swiftly rejected.
That led to the Red Devils becoming frustrated with the Blues, with The Times claiming that Manchester United believe Chelsea are being unreasonable.

While Chelsea are entitled to demand whatever they want, we feel it would be best to bring a swift end to this transfer saga and accept £60m for Mount if that sum is put on the table.
£60m for a player who plans to leave for free in 12 months would be superb business, and Pochettino could then reinvest that money into someone who is ready to become a star in west London, such as Gabri Veiga – a reported target for the Argentine.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as it remains to be seen if Mount will turn up for pre-season.
