Chelsea’s players reportedly held a meeting recently to address the team’s bad run of form in 2025.

The Chelsea squad is definitely filled with a lot of young and exciting talent, which is why the outside noise was very loud when they enjoyed an excellent first half of the season. Unfortunately, Enzo Maresca’s side have been a lot more inconsistent with their results in the last couple of months.

In February, the Blues have two wins and two defeats in the Premier League. They were also eliminated from the FA Cup after a 2-1 away loss at Brighton earlier this month.

Chelsea now sit fifth in the Premier League table because of their up and down form in recent times.

The fact that Blues star Cole Palmer hasn’t scored or assisted in his last seven appearances across all competitions may have contributed to the team’s drop off. However, Palmer promises he’ll rediscover his form after sending a defiant message on social media.

The Chelsea players held ‘honest’ meeting to clear the air about form

According to The Athletic, Chelsea’s senior players initiated a team meeting after the recent back-to-back losses to Brighton in mid-February.

Apparently, ‘frank words were exchanged’ and there was an ‘honest conversation’ between the players to discuss their form.

The report shares that key points raised included the standard of training needing to improve and for there to be more seriousness, plus that individual egos needed to be parked for the good of the team. It is understood that the general feeling was ‘very positive’ between the players after the discussion.

Since the meeting, Chelsea suffered a narrow defeat to Aston Villa, although they were on top for a spell in that game. Afterwards, they thrashed Southampton to pick up a much-needed three league points.

Rival clubs speak highly of Chelsea because they appreciate the approach from their ownership, although the supporters may be getting a bit impatient.

Based on Chelsea’s last two performances, the interruption of a team meeting could be enough to save their season as it appears to have refocused the group. Hopefully, they can finish the campaign strongly by qualifying for the Champions League and winning the Conference League trophy.

During The Athletic’s report, it further mentions that Chelsea’s leadership group arranged a team meal a day after the clear the air meeting in an attempt to bring the squad even closer together.
