Chelsea signed Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto in the last transfer window to improve their wide options.
However, Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto were not the only wingers Chelsea looked at during the summer.
While those two arrived at Stamford Bridge, Raheem Sterling left the club for Arsenal. It has been claimed that Chelsea could sell Sterling for £25m in the future.
Sancho has replaced Sterling on the left this season, but it could have been someone else.

Chelsea were interested in West Ham United’s Crysencio Summerville
Chelsea clearly wanted to sign wingers with Premier League experience because as well as Sancho and Neto, the Blues were also interested in Crysencio Summerville before his £25m move to West Ham United.
According to The Athletic, both Chelsea and Liverpool made enquiries about Summerville while he was still at Leeds United.
However, the same outlet claims that the 22-year-old was not keen on a move to either club because of the amount of wide options they already had.
It gave West Ham the opportunity to swoop in and sign him. Brighton thought they could beat Chelsea to Summerville’s signature, but the Dutchman joined neither side in the end.
Jadon Sancho a better signing than Crysencio Summerville
The Chelsea board will not be losing too much sleep over missing out on Summerville. They signed Sancho, who is the better and more experienced player, instead.
He is already making an impact at Chelsea, registering three assists in his first five Premier League games.
The 24-year-old is also going to cost practically the same amount of money as Summerville when his loan deal becomes permanent, which will happen as long as Chelsea finish in the top 14.
Summerville is yet to even break into Julen Lopetegui’s team, making just one start in the Premier League so far this season. The former Leeds man has also failed to score a goal or provide an assist since arriving at the London Stadium.
