New Chelsea signing Pedro Neto is set for a swift reunion with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.

Chelsea signed Pedro Neto from Wolves earlier this month, and the Blues’ next Premier League fixture is against them at Molineux this weekend.

Before then, Chelsea take on Servette in the first leg of their Conference League play-off tie.

Speaking in the build-up to the game, Neto named Eden Hazard as an idol of his growing up, with both men being wingers.

Matheus Cunha on Pedro Neto

Neto and Matheus Cunha ran riot the last time Chelsea played Wolves, with Gary O’Neil’s side managing to win 4-2 at Stamford Bridge.

Cunha scored a hat-trick on the day, being set up by Neto for one of his goals. The two will now be on opposing sides, but Cunha is still hoping for Neto to play well!

Speaking to Wolves’ official website about Neto ahead of the game, the Brazilian said: “It’s going to be different. I say good words to anyone who transfers, and it’s a different club for him, an unbelievably good club, like I said, and every single day for the rest of my life I will support him, and I hope everything goes well for him — apart from Sunday against us.

“I hope we play better, but I hope he plays very well also, but don’t score goals against us! But I hope we play better than them and we have the possibility to win this game.”

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher recently lauded Neto following his move to Chelsea this summer.

Will Pedro Neto start against Wolves?

There is no guarantee that Neto will start for Chelsea when they make the trip to Molineux. Enzo Maresca has so many attacking options, including Joao Felix.

Felix has just rejoined Chelsea for a second spell at the club and is one of many wide options Maresca now has.

Paul Merson has named his best Chelsea attack and did not even include Neto in it, showing just how many options the Italian has.

However, after the amount of money that they spent on Neto and given that he will be well aware of his former side’s weaknesses, there is a very good chance of the 24-year-old being named in Maresca’s starting XI for the game.

If not, then Felix, Christopher Nkunku and Mykhailo Mudryk are all alternatives the former Leicester City manager can consider. It is certainly not a bad crop of attackers.
