Antonio Rudiger has shared his thoughts on the situation involving Kai Havertz and Real Madrid as the German aims to leave Chelsea.
A story from the Guardian claims that Chelsea’s No.29 has told the Blues he wants to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with Real Madrid pushing hard to sign him after losing Karim Benzema.
So, what has Antonio Rudiger said about the Kai Havertz situation at Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the Germany international said he would love to see his fellow countryman join him at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Rudiger joined Real Madrid on a free transfer back in June 2022 after the defender’s contract at Chelsea expired.
AS quote the Real Madrid No.22 as saying: “It would make me happy to play again with Havertz at club level. Unfortunately I can’t say much about it because when it comes to transfers, my word is secondary. They are club decisions.”

Rudiger and Havertz have shared a pitch on 83 occasions throughout their careers, averaging 1.96 points per game.
The pair won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup together at Chelsea.
Chelsea should let Havertz reunite with Rudiger
In our view, Chelsea shouldn’t bother trying to persuade Havertz – who Jürgen Klopp once called a “great player” – to stay in west London.
You can’t keep unhappy players at a football club, and the longer Mauricio Pochettino tries to change the German’s mind, the less time the Argentine will have to find a replacement if he fails to get the 23-year-old to stay.
In a summer where Chelsea must sell players to stay within Financial Fair Play guidelines, a respectable offer for Havertz should be accepted – the Blues are said to be demanding €60m (£52m).
After all, Pochettino already has a replacement for his wantaway forward in Christopher Nkunku, who officially becomes a Chelsea player on July 1st.
With the above taken into account, Chelsea should let Havertz go if Real Madrid make a significant offer.
